Matthew McDowell is our Chief and is also an experienced fire professional serving with the Northern Arizona Fire District. Although he is assigned full time near Kingman he is available on his days off once home in Sherwood Forest. See full bio on home page.

Assistant Fire Chief, Chuck Pruett is a fulltime Sherwood Forest Estates resident. He is married and has two children and three grandchildren. Chuck moved to Sherwood Forest Estates in 2017. He retired from the California Department of Forestry in 2006. Chuck worked for the State for over 30 years. Chuck started as a seasonal Firefighter and was promoted through the ranks to Fire Captain. Chuck has worked as a wildland firefighter as well as structural firefighter. Chuck worked city and county contracts. Chuck served as an adjunct instructor at the CDF Academy. He was also a member of the Training Standards Committee for inmate wildland firefighting training and standards. Chuck brings a depth of knowledge in wildland and structural firefighting. We are lucky to have him as our Assistant Fire Chief.
Brienne McDowell is our Administrative Assistant. She serves the needs of the Command Staff and the Fire Board as directed by the Fire Chief. She is currently working to enhance her skills set and is a valuable component keeping our Fire District operating and organized. Bree is also a full time teacher.
