In case you missed it, we are now in stage 2 fire restrictions. Below is more information.
Stage 2 Fire Restrictions in Effect at 6:00 PM June 18, 2025.
Effective 6:00 p.m. this evening, Kaibab National Forest, Coconino National Forest, and Coconino County will all enter Stage 2 Fire Restrictions due to increased wildfire risk.
Here’s what Stage 2 means for everyone:
What’s Prohibited:
No campfires (even in developed campgrounds)
No charcoal grills or wood stoves
No smoking except in enclosed vehicles or buildings
No use of internal combustion engines (e.g. chainsaws) between 9 AM and 8 PM
No welding, grinding, or use of open flames
No fireworks or pyrotechnics—ever
What’s Still Allowed (with caution):
Propane or gas stoves with an on/off switch
Vehicles on designated roads and trails
Smoking inside buildings or vehicles
Why It Matters:
Conditions are extremely dry and fire danger is very high. Please help us reduce human-caused wildfires and protect our communities and first responders.
Applies to ALL areas within Kaibab & Coconino National Forests and unincorporated areas of Coconino County.
